How to Use the Voice Recorder
This voice recorder uses your browser's built-in recorder to capture audio from any microphone. Recordings stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded. It is handy for voice notes, checking how your mic sounds, or recording a quick sample for a friend.
- Press ● Record. Allow microphone access the first time.
- Speak. Watch the level bar to check the volume.
- Press ■ Stop. Your recording appears in the list.
- Play or download. Save it as a file, or record another.
Which File Format Do I Get?
Chrome, Edge and Firefox save WebM or Ogg audio with the Opus codec, which is small and clear. Safari saves M4A. All play in VLC, and most editors open them.
Tips for Clean Recordings
- Record in a small, soft room.
- Keep a steady distance from the mic.
- Watch the level bar: aim for the yellow, not the red.
- Do a short test take before the real one.
Use It as a Mic Check
Record a few seconds, play it back and listen. If it sounds muffled, distant or noisy, run the mic test to look at the levels.
