PS4 Controller Tester

Connect your PS4 Controller (DualShock 4) and press any button. The diagram shows the PS4 button labels, both sticks and both triggers live.

How to Use the PS4 Controller Tester

This PS4 controller tester is our gamepad tester with PS4 button labels. The DualShock 4 connects with a micro-USB cable, or over Bluetooth by holding Share + PS until the light bar flashes. On Windows, Steam may take it over. If buttons look wrong, close Steam and try again. Then press every button, circle both sticks and run the stick drift measurement.

  1. Connect the controller. USB or Bluetooth.
  2. Press any button. The browser needs this to show it.
  3. Test every part. Buttons, sticks, triggers and rumble.
  4. Measure drift. Hands off for 5 seconds.

How to Connect a PS4 Controller (DualShock 4)

  • USB: plug in the cable, then press any button.
  • Bluetooth: pair the controller in your system settings, then press a button.
  • Browsers only show a controller after you press a button. This is a privacy rule.
  • Use Chrome or Edge for the best support, including vibration.

Fixing Stick Drift

  • Run the drift measurement and set the suggested dead zone in your game.
  • Clean around the stick with isopropyl alcohol, moving it in circles.
  • Update the controller firmware.
  • If drift is over 0.15 at rest, the stick module is likely worn and needs repair or replacement.
