Switch Controller Tester
Connect your Switch Pro Controller and press any button. The diagram shows the Switch button labels, both sticks and both triggers live.
How to Use the Switch Pro Controller Tester
This Switch controller tester is our gamepad tester with Switch button labels. The Switch Pro Controller pairs over Bluetooth by holding the small sync button on top. Over USB on PC, it may need Steam. Note the Nintendo layout: B and A are swapped compared with Xbox, and ZL/ZR are digital. Then press every button, circle both sticks and run the stick drift measurement.
- Connect the controller. USB or Bluetooth.
- Press any button. The browser needs this to show it.
- Test every part. Buttons, sticks, triggers and rumble.
- Measure drift. Hands off for 5 seconds.
How to Connect a Switch Pro Controller
- USB: plug in the cable, then press any button.
- Bluetooth: pair the controller in your system settings, then press a button.
- Browsers only show a controller after you press a button. This is a privacy rule.
- Use Chrome or Edge for the best support, including vibration.
What to Check
| Part | How to test | Healthy result |
|---|---|---|
| Buttons | Press each one | Lights up once per press |
| Sticks | Slow full circles | Round trail, reaches the edge |
| Stick rest | Measure stick drift | Under 0.05 |
| Triggers | Slow pull | Smooth 0 to 1 |
| Rumble | Press a rumble button | Motors vibrate |
Fixing Stick Drift
- Run the drift measurement and set the suggested dead zone in your game.
- Clean around the stick with isopropyl alcohol, moving it in circles.
- Update the controller firmware.
- If drift is over 0.15 at rest, the stick module is likely worn and needs repair or replacement.
