How to Use the 1 Minute Typing Test
A one-minute typing test is the standard way to measure WPM. Correct characters count toward your WPM, using the standard five characters per word.
- Start typing. The timer starts with your first key press.
- Keep going. Type the highlighted text. Mistakes turn red.
- Read your result. You get WPM and accuracy when time runs out.
What Is a Good WPM?
About 40 WPM is average. 60+ is fast, and 90+ is very fast for most people.
